I would think you would want a curved piece of metal bridging the two pieces of plate. I would be afraid of one of the plates cutting through a tow strap.

How about this one? its got provisions for a loop strap, and a D-ring shackle.. sometimes you just don't have time for hooking up a shackle before you lose your rig off the cliff..

That is way too practical for people with small wieners.

Nobody else has pointed this out but if you need a step to get into the back of your truck, then you should sell your truck and get a car because you're too old and you should go away. Either that or you have too much lift on your truck and you should also go away. Feel free to interpret the phrase "you should go away" as you should die because there are some plants out there working very hard making air for you to breathe and you own them an apology for wasting their time!!
