Well I loved my Tundra but once spring hit I knew I was going to have to sawzall off the top or get a Jeep, I chose the latter. We went into the dealer just knowing they would say no to our requirements but after 4 hours they came back with a yes. It's a 2010 Rubicon Auto. It had a 2 inch puck lift on it from the dealer (no shock change or anything). My wife was driving it home ,she claims she gets car sick so has to drive but she drives like a madman so I think it is just an excuse to get behind the wheel. When she got it home she turned too late into the garage and took off the front fender. I was walking in as it happened because she had dropped me off to get the mail. She started sobbing and I was thinking "well I was going to trim those off eventually so I'll just do it now". I added a Warn 16.5ti 16,500 pound winch on the front, I had bought the winch for the Tundra and never got it put on. Other than 3 switches (one for each locker and one to turn off the ESP and other electronics) it is stock for now. I’m thinking of selling the tires and rims for $1200 and up-sizing a little bit, but don't have money for the gear change so we will see. It is nice to get the top and doors off and drive around.
Now on to the bikes. I first bought the yellow one (Chinese knock off of Honda) thinking it would be great to run around town on and even up to Ogden to see the kids occasionally. However, it is just 200cc’s and there is no way I could take it to Ogden (well there is, but not easily). So I told my wife I was going to sell it and by a KLR650, I’ve read about them on here as well as on the web and it looked like the bike I wanted. So I told my wife this and she said “Let’s keep the little one for me…you can teach me to ride and then we can ride our bikes around together.” The first thing that hits my mind is that she can’t even ride a bicycle. Well we had our first “lesson” and she can turn around through an empty parking lot now and start off by herself 3 out of 10 times. I figure 10-20 more lessons and she’ll be road worthy and may even be able to get her license. We’ll see. The KLR in a 2009.
So that is basically my “Toy Story”.
Also if anyone cares the Jeep’s name is Jamari (means warrior), the KLR is named Kathryn (or Kat for short) and the yellow bike is named Wildfire (That’s it’s brand name).
