UpCountry XJ's? Were those the factory option ones that had like a 1" lift?

I didn't even know they had those drop down things. My guess is that its just one of those catigory class requirment things... your probobly right. I would guess they have very little to do with saftey requirments..

That guard is probably nothing more than a 'shield' to hide the 'ugly' undercarriage and help with aero dynamics. I doubt it offers any protection...
