Northern Region deer- Pilot Mtn area?

Some of you may recall my earlier posts about my son and I drawing different regions.

As a result, most my hunt time will be spent helping him in NE, while I try to sneak in a little time here and there on northern.

Some of the closer northern region areas to home (Grantsville) may be Pilot Mtn and other west desert regions, north of I-80.

Anyone familiar with deer in those areas?

I guess Pilot Mtn is mostly Nevada, right?

Silver Island Mtns area is a better term for what I was thinking.

I just looked at Google maps and the Pilot range appears to be mostly in Utah. My son and I spent some time jeeping out there a couple of years ago and it looked like a good area to look for deer. We saw tracks and lots of good habitat but not many deer. We didn't hike up into the best looking deer country since we were looking for chukars.
