Now what do I do with it?

So I picked up a GPS (Garmin Legend HCx) now what do I need? What do you do next?

So far I've got a 1gb memory card for it and found a set of FREE Utah topo maps from http://www.miscjunk.org/mj/mp_main.html , pulled in easyGPS so I could load GPS exchange files and pulled in some trails I am going to run at the end of the month from traildamage.

I've had it out of the box for all of 2 hours and I'm feeling like I should be doing something else with it. What else would you do/load/purchase/borrow/steal? :hickey:

I'm thinking I'm going to hit the local whole number Latitude/logitude point. looks like about a 1/2 mile from a road. :greg:

That's always fun. There's a whole "project" around visiting those points, here's the one you're looking at:

By the way, I created the Utah topo mapset you mentioned above. Any feedback you could give me would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sweet :greg: I'm hoping to take my girls out this weekend and finding it. (Wife thinks I need to paint or something :ugh: I guess the paint has to dry sometime)

The mapset looks really good, I was surprised it had the roads in my development (some are as new as 3 years). :greg: It looks like a lot of work. Lots of detail on the maps and as a novice to GPS it helps me figure out where I'm at. :greg:

Made it out to the confluence. Figured out my camera doesn't like to focus on the GPS screen. It's easy to get to on the Elberta slant road, ended up walking about 0.2 miles.

The topo map looked good for some reason it has SR68 labeled Main street. I guess it's as close to main street as Saratoga springs has, I've just never seen a sign that says main street in the city. :hickey: Of course SR68 is more like a cow path than a main state road so maybe it's in the plans.
