Hi everyone,

I am a bit new here, but I am looking for some parts for my NP435 Transmission. I am still trying to decide if I am going to rebuild it or just try to find a used one somewhere. I know I need the first/reverse gear. I was wondering if someone might know if a good place to find parts would be?

It came out of a Ford pickup. There is no T-case adapter just the transmision. It has not had the output shaft changed from stock. what set up are you running?

If you find something that works Jody, we'll be in Moab in a few weeks and could most likely get the parts from SLC to us in Moab for a relatively cheap fee.....ie some of your wife's Sunday bread or two Swiss babies. :greg:

I'm running a 205 transfer case, on mine. I think that because it was on a Ford, it will work, some of the NP435's on the dodge and GMC had a different output shaft.

If you are lookin for another tranny, my brother has one that came out of a '76 F-250 with a 390 and a divorce mounted 205 that he is lookin to get rid of for cheap, it that would be of any use to you.

Dusty Bronco,
I don't know the spline count, I assume that it is the 28 spline, I haven't pulled the tranny yet. I have pulled the top shifter cover off to see if I could tell what was wrong with it. That is how I know that the reverse shift fork is a bit screwed up, and that the 1st/reverse gear is messed up a bit on the back side. I think that is why it keeps popping out of reverse. Sometimes so hard that it actually causes the shifter to move in between the shift fork notches and then sticks in what I believe is 2nd gear. Then you have to pull the entire top cover off and re aline the shifter with the shift forks.
