National Public Lands Day is around the corner and like the past years, Rocky Mountain Extreme will be focusing on 5 Mile Pass.

National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. In 2006,100,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, planted trees and plants, and removed trash and invasive plants. Join us for the 14th annual National Public Lands Day.

Date: Saturday, Sept. 29th, 2007
Meeting Location: Main parking area of 5 Mile Pass, North of the road.
Meeting Time: 9 am
Cleanup time frame: Should be done by 2-3 pm.

Those that are interested in bring their rigs are encouraged, there will be plenty of time for a trail run afterwards. :D

The BLM will provide us with a large dumpster & specific locations of areas that need to be cleaned up. We need 15-20 people and 5+ vehicles for hauling. Wear pants, boots and bring some work gloves! I'd also recommend packing a lunch, snacks & water/drinks.

The U4WDA will be providing t-shirts for each volunteer and the BLM will be providing free park passes!

We need volunteers to help!! Please come join us, give back a few hours of your time & help make the areas we love, better for all to enjoy! Will you be there?!
I'll be coming up from Colorado... if I can make it, you can too. ;)

The U4WDA will need a list of those who want t shirts and sizes and are going to show up. That way we can plan ahead. I have been told there will be extras though.

The wife and I plan on being there and probably my son in law (two large and one extra large). Last year I wished I had brought my junk hauling trailer, are we needing to haul large stuff like last time or lots of small stuff ? I also have a small Bantam jeep trailer that I can bring if the bigger one isn't needed.

I haven't heard specifically what kind of stuff it out there, but I'll be bringing our Dodge pickup to haul trash. If you can bring either trailer, I'm sure they would get used.

i dont know if its worth anything, but i will be going out this weekend, to rattelsnake and constrict, i will try and get the toerh guys to pick around and keep the areas clean, is it worth to leave the bags at other parking lot, or take home, not sure if i wil be able to make it that weekend ...

but i have been cleaned up a year or so ago, and filled an entire quad trailor in like an hour, so there is alot i know.

also do you know if anyone would be collecting the cans, aka aluminumumum, recylceable?
