National Public Lands Day at 5 Mile Pass cleanup with Rocky Mountain Extreme!

Date: Saturday, Sept. 28th, 2013

Meeting Location: Main parking area of 5 Mile Pass, North of the road. Dumpster will be close to the Pit Toilet in the Main Parking area.

Starting Time: 9 AM

Cleanup time frame: Should be done by 1 to 2 PM.

The BLM will provide us with a large dumpster, we will need to locate and cleanup trash in the area.

We need 30-40 people and 10+ vehicles for hauling garbage! If you have a utility trailer you can bring, please do so! Wear pants, boots and bring some work gloves! I'd also recommend packing a lunch, snacks & water/drinks. We need volunteers to get this done!! Please come join us, give back a few hours of your time & help make the areas we all love better for everyone to enjoy! Garbage Bags will be supplied by RME.

There will be a sign up sheet at the start of the day, PLEASE get your name on the list so we can document all the hours we've worked with the BLM.

Those that are interested in bring their rigs are encouraged to, there will be plenty of time for a trail run up Rattlesnake and Constrictor afterward if you're up for it.

I ditched RME last year to hang with the Kool Kids, I'll be there this time though.

Yeah, AFC is really more alluring with the desert. I haven't heard of any other big, conflicting projects for NPLD this year so hopefully there will be no excuses!

I will put it down on the calendar, a two months should be enough time in advance for my wife to let me have the day off.

The only other sort of big project I know of is the Forest Service is staining the fence we built last year but that's not near as cool as building the fence or cleaning up our trail.

Looking forward to seeing you again Greg if the body holds up. Want to get the first hand info on your new place.

2 months should be enough time for everyone to plan on NPLD @ 5MP! See you there... ;)

 Good to hear, our turnout wasn't too strong last year.

You know, U4WDA had stickers and shirts and coffee mugs and all sort of swag for us at the Forest Service project. An RME shirt sure would look good in my closet, though...

I am planning on camping there the 27th with some of the young men from church, so I will have about 6 more people with me to help out with the service project.

After reading the post on little Moab needing help, I will be going there for clean up this year.

I was just thinking that I have never participated in one of these events. I thought I would get the dump bed trailer and come down. Then I looked at the calender and realized my anniversary is the same weekend. It would be fun to go but im out :(

Looks like I am going to have to pull out of this, which means the boys that were going to be camping there won't be there either. Grandpa just passed an his funeral will be the same day as this.

Sorry to hear about your Grandpa, that's totally understandable. Thanks for making the effort!
