NPS: Canyonlands: Elephant Hill Road Impassable

Announcement via email 8/5/2012:

Please be advised that Elephant Hill Road has become "impassable" until
further notice due to a large washed out portion of the road. We are
working to resolve the situation and will notify you once it becomes

As of 8/8/12...

With shovel, maddox, and lots of elbow grease the Elephant Hill 4X4 road is
now open...Thanks, -Clay

I wonder where it got washed out.
I've got pix of it. But they are NPS internal pix so I don't feel comfortable posting them publicly. I can't really tell exactly where the location is, but it was just an area along a flat portion of the trail with high brush on both sides. It got washed out down the center of the trail, maybe 20 feet long. It really didn't look bad enough to stop most RME type folk, but the NPS has different road standards than the typical RME'er.
