Broadhead Lakes Trail

OK OK I know that this isn't the most extreme trail run last Saturday, but it was the trail that we were able to tackle because our trail rig broke two weeks previous and we were only able to take a daily driver. I thought that you might have wanted to see the scenery that we were able to enjoy. Anyway, here goes.
Here is our lineup as we were preparing to go.

Here is one of the two technical spots on the trail. Steep shale rock, but if your brakes were working good, then there were no problems

Here was a tight little area that had a few boulders on it that we had to watch the fenders a bit, but nothing too serious.

Here is our group stopping for lunch. GPS said the elevation was about 10,500 feet.

Here are a few pics of the scenery that we passed along the way.

I will attach a few other pictures later.

I am stoked to hear everyone had a good time! The U4WDA and the Unlimited 4x4 folks put alot of time/effort into this event and it really paid off. A big thanks to all those that made it happen! :D

We made it in the pictures, my clan is in the picture below Steve's blue scout. We had a great time. We did the NS trail, it was a good trail with some challenging spots. There were some loose and rocky spots that gave some of the rigs trouble but we got everyone back in one piece. I'll have to get pictures from my two son in laws since I was driving and didn't get out to take pictures. We almost missed the trail rides since we got there just before the groups left. We were driving my blue Scrambler, my son in laws white XJ, and his brothers red TJ. My other son in law drove his big red DARE jeep truck down, it was the chopped up J300 with police lights on top.

Is that a new "articulating bumper" on Sami's blue runner, or is something messed up? In the flex pic it has about a 4" gap between the passenger side grill and the bumper and the driver side of the bumper is up tight to the grill, then in the picture coming over the rock wall, it is sitting level. WTF?

.....more damage from Crazy 8

OK.....so I was doing some cleaning on the Jeep item today and noticed a leetle puddle under the tranny pan. Somewhere Crazy 8 bounced my front crossmember tube into my pan. That must have been a hard hit, but I don't remember hitting anything that hard. Maybe on the last obstacle?.......

Here are a few pictures from the NS trail which was east of Salina. I'll add some more when I get them from my son in laws.

speaking of in-laws, in that first picture that is the parking lot of the salina rodeo grounds, and behind them trees is where my Mother-in-law has been staying taking care of her brother that just passed of Cancer..r.i.p... we were just there not to long ago looking up in the hills from her porch wondering if there was any good wheel'n up there.
