Ohv registration

I heard rumors that it could be done but was quite difficult but can't confirm or deny if that is true.
I would say to call the DMV and ask but typically they know less than we do on topics of this nature...

From my understanding the old vin is confiscated/destroyed by the state. So if anything you'll never register it under the original vin but may get a new state issued custom or builder vin.

I asked around and a few people said I have to get it inspected by a police officer and it needs to pass safety, then I will get a new vin and title from the DMV.

That's what you do to go to OHV so if it is possible it makes sense it would be the same to go back

I want to say it was about 4 years ago when I registered my jeep as an ohv. The lady at the dmv said they had recently changed the laws and that it was alot easier to go back to a normal vehicle. They took the title from me but the vin # remained the same. So if I wanted to go back it was just a matter of changing the registration and issuing a new title. If they issued you a new vin when you went ohv I'm not sure.
