Hi guys, my name is Shane, I live in Perry (just south of Brigham City) and a few months ago I bought a 92 Isuzu Rodeo LS. I post on PlanetIsuzoo and seen Troop mention this site and followed him here. It's nice to see so many local wheelers here. Anyone else here from Perry, Brigham or Willard?
I have always loved wheeling and had a nice old 75 Jimmy with a big lift, 35s, and Detroit lockers that I took to Moab many times. It was a great truck but other hobbies left the truck neglected and sitting through one to many Utah winters has taking it's toll on the poor old truck. It has more rust than paint and it's time to retire the old girl.
I have never been much of a mechanic, never really enjoyed it, but since buying the Rodeo I have actually enjoyed working on it and have learned a lot by doing it all myself. So far I have replaced the rear pinion seal, all the u-joints, gave it a tune up and changed all the fluids, rebuilt fuel pressure regulator and replaced TBI fuel injectors, replaced the rear shackle bushings, removed auto hubs and replaced them with Aisin manual hubs, built my own 1½" body lift pucks and installed them, plus a few other odds and ends.
I recently bought a nice Thule MOAB cargo basket off of KSL, cleaned it up, repainted it and got that installed. Made some brackets for some old spot lights that I restored and installed those. Also installed some fog lights on the original brush guard.
Next will be to rob the add a leaf off the Jimmy and get that installed on the Rodeo. When the tax return gets back I hope to get some new shocks and replace the worn out 31 inch tires with some 32s or 33s, depending on how much the AAL lifts it up.
Anyways, here's a couple of pics of the Rodeo Fair warning, I used to be a photographer so I like taking and posting lots of pics.
As purchased ...
With body lift ...
and rack ...
Another rack shot with spot lights. I built the fairing for it cause the PO lost the original one.
All lights on ...
I have more pics and info on my build thread on PlanetIsuzoo and lots more pics on my website @ Old Arn Restorations (One of my other hobbies).
So I hope to meet some locals and hopefully do some wheeling with ya all.
Thanks,
Shane
