Hey, take a look at the pictures on my fototime page from my first cage. I think the design is sound and easy to do.....you deffinately need to re-do that front a-pillar or death will ensue (especially if you can find a way to roll on poisen spider 
)

Ive been trying to call Baldy all week on it, who knows where the hell hes at.
LMAO, I was told by another friend still in AK that hes been running a MOUT site in ND. Im not sure now many are still planning the trip, but I could care less, I plan on running the crap out of my rig till whats left arrvies.

you can even look at my windshield bars for advice, i screwed up on them too. i had them angle back too much and not up enough.
we all make mistakes, just do your best to fix it while you are so early in the build.

just take som measurents off of other xjs and make the cage a little higher then the roof, depending on your height i guess.

Better. How are you going to attach your b pillar to the chassis? With it going inside the old door jam I don't see a way it is possible to properly attach it to the vehicle. Please don't tell me you are just welding the tubes to the sheetmetal.
When I actually get this to be postioned where I want it (and dont have to grind the crap out of it to make it right the first time), It is staying inside the Piller, only to help hold it up when I put the half doors back on. Im going to weld a 5x5 angle iron peice to the bottom of the piller. On the under side Im going to weld another peice thatll be cut down to 5x2 angle to the rockers, and bolt through the floor to eachother. Same with the C Piller, weld a peice of the 5x5 angle to the bottom so it stis nice agains the wheel well, drill and bolt to another peice of flat to the the other side. The A pillers are going to run into the tube fenders that will attach right to the uniframe. I fuigured the weight dispersing use of plate steel will hold better than welding against my unsleeved uni.

I take all of the credit for the redesign. I told Brian it looked like crap and was dangerous. Being the extremely logical person he is, he took my advice and changed the direction he was going with the cage.
Just kidding, LOL.
I did say that it looked better with the A-pillars swapped around.
Good work, Brian. Now go buy a damn vice so you can stop kneeling on the pipe when you fish the ends.
