opinions wanted...XJ front stubby bumper...?

i picked up this 3x6x3/16" front bumper from XJnate a while ago and finally got it mounted after modifying, painting, breaking a steering box bolt and beating it to get it in. it's great and very happy with it.

however, I need to add some side pieces since "legal full width" bumper is open to interpretation and I would like something below headlights for protection. since this is my daily and I'm cheap, leaning towards 2" tubing at front and wrapping 3-4" around at sides. "triangulated" blue pieces on each side are stamped fender supports and bottom not bolted down now so might cut those off.
also thinking about duplicating the "triangulated" pieces or a style close to those with thick plates and having those welded off the bumper on each side but with 3" wide bumper not sure about looking right.

opinions? your ideas?

You'll for sure want to cut those triangle supports. I would take a pic of how I've always done it but now my design is different. I personally dig the stubby look and would probably just run it until the law gives you issues (if ever) but adding sides is cool too
