Everyone knows how i drive and i have broken 3 ring and pinions in the last 2 years and never had a problem with the OX other than me installing the cable wrong. The ARB's i had made me incomplete about a hand full of obstacles in competition and the OX hasnt yet.

That said i'm not a big fan of ARBs anymore. I love Detroit lockers; no maintenance, all good.

Thanks for the reply. I have been running an Aussie up front for the past two years and I am tired of not being able to steer when I need to. I feel the benefit of a selectable locker is the route I need to take. It also seems to me that the majority of issues with the OX locker come from improper adjustment while the ARB can have any number of issues arise. Interesting debate!

I'd do the hydro assist and keep what you have. I think that'll help the unibody steering box area last longer if it's set up properly.

Regardless of which locker you choose the issue will not be with the products but with the install.

X2, I've had an ARB in my XJ D30 front for 8 yrs w/o any problems. Make sure it's installed correctly and just do the routine maintenance on it and you'll be fine. People complain about leaks and plastic airlines, yada yada. Maintain your junk and it'll treat you well and you can always go with the SS braided air lines for peace of mind. Just my 02.

I am considering installing a hydro assist, however I would still very much like a selectable locker up front.

I have ran OX in my comp Jeep for the last 2 seasons. And I did have a problem with it. But the problem was do to my install of the cable it was to short when i would fully flex it and keept stretching it to wear it wouldn't work anymore. Yes i have found that you do need to adjust the cable after a while but it is a easy thing to do you lift you tires of the ground and pull the shifter apart and spin you wheels in tell it locks in with good tension and then unlock it and make sure it disengages it takes a couple times cause it has to be write to make it work proper.I have also found that once you have readjusted it you usually don't half to do it again if it is done write. My friends down at Skys Extreme OFF Road that is all that they will try to sell in less it has to do with a buget they have done at least 20 of them in the past 6 months Chris down there knows his axels. I beet the crap out of mine and shift them in and out more times in one comp then you would do in a whole year. OX is a great product and have ran ARBS they are good to but when you blow a house you done or even a seal with the OX you can put a bolt in the diff were the cable goes in and you will still have your locker.
