ok so I was going to be giving this speech in a couple weeks and had plenty of time to prepare but my teacher told me today that he moved a couple peoples times up and so I will be giving my speech tomorrow.

I am having alittle trouble finding what to talk about however and wondered if any of you had ideas on how I can give a persuasive speech on adoption? Any help would be appreciated.

I know this doesn't help you much now, but if I had more time I could give you tons of ideas and info. We're just about done with our adoption of a little boy from Ethiopia.

Sorry

WOW congrats caleb hope it all clears alright. I found alittle outline and I will follow it but any more info would be appreciated.

emotional appeal, information and data, and some authority on the subject.
For emotional appeal: tell about all the children that have parents that can't take care of them because they do drugs, don't have enough money, or their too young. Show how adoption gives the children a better chance at a good life.

For information/ data: It sounds like you have that down. The references and examples of famous people who were adopted and famous people who adopted children is a good start. Maybe add some statistics to your speech also.

For authority: Do you know someone who was adopted? Were you adopted? If so, tell about it. The audience will have a "why should I listen to you about this subject" attitude, so show them something that makes you credible in this subject. If you can't find anything, just use information from highly respected people and it should be fine.

I adopted my twin sons when they were 50 years old. A little different but the love and caring were the same since I had them from age 5. Why wait so long, many reasons like money, having sperm donor dad agree, etc. etc. Late age adoption might be worth a mention.
