I also drive against the brake (auto trans) in very technical sections. I kind of load the drivetrain torque up a bit and release it with the brake in a mostly controlled manner. I guess I control my speed with the brake and just try to keep the revs to about 1500-2000 rpm. Rarely do I get over 2500 rpm unless it's a weird climb that I've been unsuccessful crawling already or know I'll need a bit of wheelspeed to get up/over. With the auto, I think that works pretty well. Any suspension "hopping" causes bad things ultimately... I definitely stay away from that
