Pics of my cage

I am getting ready to paint this another color. I have recently added everything that isn't yellow. I mainly wanted new seats. My seats mount to the two cross pieces. I also have all seatbelt mounts (for the front seats)attached to the cage now. I also attached my ammo can console to these cross pieces. My cage is attached to the frame at the front hoop through new body mounts that we made, and the tub is attached to the frame (indirectly) in the rear through a home made tire carrier/cargo rack. I bought two additional 1" lift pucs from Daystar for the new body mounts to match the rest. You can also see I ran some flat from the middle hoop back to the rear. I have some 4"x24" pieces (1 on each side) that bolt up from under the fender to make sure noththing tears away. We put gussets at each corner, with some handles.

I am into this roughly 200.00. I bought the smittybilt front hoop for about $135, then bought the tubing from Rocklogic, and had them bend my rear pieces -(my brother is an electrician, so we made templates with some 3/4" emt) They also bent the tubing that runs from the front hoop to the middle one. (I would definately go this route again) My dad and I did the rest.

I will post a pic of the jeep. I am getting the tub lined black this week. - Any suggestions on a color for the cage? I am leaning towards silver or grey - think black might get hot.

I've got a question: The only part of my cage/jeep that I don't think is pretty safe is the rear seat. I am going to put sholder belts in, and attach them to the rear corner bars, but I don't know if the seat would stay in place in a collision, or rollover. The mounting brackets don't seem ver strong to me. I have thought about getting like a 4" or 5" wide piece of strap and welding it to my cage where the flat runs along the top of my feneders. Then bend it down the fender, accross the floor, and up to the other side. Then I would bolt the seat through this piece, and beef up the seatbelts.

Is this overkill? - I have done quite a bit to protect me and the boss, but not much to protect the kids.

I obvously would have them get out if I thought ther was risk.

Has anyone heard of these rear seats breaking apart, or coming off in a collision/rollover?

Opinions?

I would think it would have to be pretty violent to have the rear seat rip out.

Not to mention if it is stock seat stuff, I would think that the OEM would have addressed that to avoid being sued.

I think a hematite gray would be awesome. or just go with black. black goes with pretty much everything, but everyone's got a black cage.

Unless you've got a lot of rust, I agree with James.
