So, while this is done, we did end up basically bypassing the GC for a few final things. He has just proven his attention to detail and recollection of things discussed is not the best. We finally got sick of waiting for a new front door that we said to bag it and we painted our existing front door and will get it at a later date. He is claiming that the door he "ordered" is still on backorder, and here we are 3 months from when it was supposed to be ordered. It's a pretty basic craftsman fiberglass door, but instead of the usual 6 panel upper window, it is 4 panels. I don't buy a 4 month+ backorder on it (still was unable to give us a date) but I also find it weird that he would forget that often...but who knows.

We ended up hiring the concrete out back to someone else after he kept pushing it off and told us he would need his 2 yards of gravel for it (that he billed us $1600 for and finally removed from our driveway after 6+ months and only crediting me back $600 claiming he used "a lot" for backfill....which he didn't...maybe 1/4 of the total delivered)

They did the punch list and the mudders had to come back 5 times 😲 They kept missing pin holes and even poorly sanded areas that I marked with blue tape. After the 2nd time I asked if they were done and that there were still spots missed. He said to remark them with tape (this is the owner and not his guys) So I removed all tape, put it ONLY where there was stuff missed and even circled it with a pencil. They came back and STILL missed some spots. I finally just did my own mud on those areas. When the GC came to look, he said, even the sanding wasn't good and needed to be redone in spots. Still took 2 more times to get it done. Then he had the painter come back who did a great job.....the painter/trim work guy was the only sub I felt even remotely cared about doing a good job.

Well, I bring all this up because the final inspection just happened and they failed because the electrician left a plug off one side of the island. I knew, with the island being 4x7' it needed an outlet on both ends. The contractor claims we said we didn't want one there....which was not true because I had forgotten the final inspection was even happening at all and just planned on running it myself at some point. Still, how did the GC and the electrician miss that? It is standard code.

I am just glad that this one last piece is it and then we can be done with the addition. Now, as I posted in the Lawn thread, it's time to get the backyard together. new sprinklers, controllers, water line, etc) Then amended soil and sod.
