Pipe Caps for Diff Protection

Do you remember back in the day when toyota guys were running Pipe Caps (8") for differential protection. You'd cut one in half and use half up front and half out back.

Anyone know where you can buy one here in Utah.

I know, you'd think a guy who designs oil field stuff all day would know where to get one, but I'm not in Wyoming or North Dakota, so I have no idea.

The last couple I bought (15 years ago) came from Mountain West. 3300 S. and maybe 200 W. or so.

Mountainland is probably what it was then too, I just mis-remembered.

It was Mountain States then... Plumbers Supply just south of there, and Pipe Valve & Fitting will have them as well. You're looking for a buttweld cap, but yeah I have seen some redneck use a threaded cap.

I only use the finest on my Range Rover. Butt welded is the only ones I want to use.

I’m willing to bet some dude back in the day made one out of PVC. Lol.

I sell them all the time at work... But then in the Uinta Basin they are used in the oilfield all the time.
