Places to go shooting close to Orem.

SO since i moved to Orem 2yrs ago. I've never been able to find a place to go shooting. I know the Provo gun club is up Provo Canyon but, I don't really want to have to pay $ and, only be able to shoot on Wed or Sat with everyone else.

I'm sure i can go out by Little Moab but, thats kind of far to go just for an hour of shooting.

Dose anyone know of a place I can go?

up in the hills west of Saratoga...aweosme places to shoot and I bet its only about 20 mins drive for you, I can get there in 30 from South Jordan.

I've been looking for a place from Heber to Orem, so I could shoot on my way home from work but, haven't found anything yet.

I'm used to growing up in a small town where you could go pretty much go any place you wanted to and, shoot.

Between Heber and Orem? Tried up near Wallsburg? Maybe take the Deer Creek trail from the reservoir up over the hill and into the forest.

I've been out a couple times at a place on the way to five mile, but way before that. After the chevron in Lehi about 15 minutes west of that is a big area, as it starts going uphill it's off to the right. I heard that it MAY be illegal now... but 2 months ago there were a couple other groups out there with us.

With my part time job (Cabela's) I get the itch to go shooting alot more. Plus I get to try out new stuff.

Squaw Peak Road up Provo Canyon at the Provo Gun Club, they have a really nice new rifle range, you'll have to check their schedule. and right above that is a spot you can go shoot crap anytime.

you talking about the Cedar Fort area? We used to shoot out there years ago, I *think* it's illegal now though.

I realize this thread is old, but its still active and good information.

Up Spanish Fork Canyon about 5-10 miles. You will pass diamond fork on your left, the rod curves right and the very next right is a park. Cross the tracks pass the park and just stay left and keep driving. Great place to shoot. its about a 15 mile drive from provo
