Hey, my dad and I have always enjoys cars and working on various vehicles. Well, we have an 84 4Runner and were going to build it up together for Moab, something that we've loved doing together. It was going to be out project. He passed away 4 days ago, Monday morning. This project has taken a new swing for me. It is important to me to finish it, and dedicate it to him. The yota has a fairly rusty frame. Not too deep, but it needs to be taken care of. I'm tight on cash, so renting a sandblaster(something I've done in the past) is not a question at the moment. I'd like to stop or get rid of the rust to preserve the runner as much as possible. I've tried Muratic Acid followed with a wire wheel and die grinder, and it has removed most of it. Anything else I could do? How effective is the Rustoleum rusty metal primer? How well and effective is POR15? Please give advice on what you do to stop, remove, or at least slow as much as possible the rust on a frame. Any thing given is so appreciated. Thanks so much. This board is so great, and such a life saver.
