Should I take a stock 4 door Tacoma through PSM?

Is taking a stock 4 door Tacoma through PSM sheer lunancy? I'm leaning towards most definitely yes, but it has been brought to my attention that I happen to live in somewhat of an alternate reality, so I'm looking for outside opinions. :)

we've taken stock tacoma's and grand cherokee's through there. It'll be perfectly fine.

Brett took his stock taco all the way through Golden Spike if I remember right, and I don't think he even had so much as a scratch. Tacoma's get it done.

You are CRAZY, but you already knew that. But, like has been said, you should be fine. Does it have a locker?

Well, glad I asked! Yes, it has a rear locker. I was just more worried about clearance issues and scratching the life out of the bumpers.

Oh and Bart, thanks for the confirmation, some days I wonder if I really am just a boring housewife.... :p

You should do fine as long as you have a good spotter on a couple of the obstacles. We took some stock Jeeps in there( well they had rear lockers and all) and they came out with no body damage.

Here is a video of my favorite part of Posion Spider:

Your Toyota should be albe to do that, maybe even in 2 wheel drive just to show all the jeep girls up.

Just kidding:D

Still you will do fine.

Who's Tacoma is this? How experienced is the driver? If it's an inexperienced driver who is trusting you to lead them on a trail they are capable of completing without damage, I would not do it. Even if there is no damage to the truck, the driver will probably leave a little freaked out, and have a negative view of 4 wheeling. For new drivers using their own equipment I have found it is best to take them on a trail that is well below the capabilities of their vehicle.

If the question is "Can an experienced driver navigate a stock Tacoma through PSM without damage?" then the answer is yes. If the question is "should I take an inexperienced driver in a stock Tacoma through PSM for her first 4 wheeling experience?" then the answer is no. My .02. :)

I took my Tacoma through when it was stock and it's not a TRD so no lockers and it had the stock tires. They will drag the rear bumper for sure but the front bumper should be fine. There is only the waterfall and the ledges before the wedge that I had to get some tires spinning to get up.

Well, considering the fact that this is a company girl's run, that shouldn't be a problem!! :p

Has this girl ever driven off road before? The truck will be fine but will the girl know how to drive it? It is unsafe to put first time drivers on 4 or 4+ trails for their first trip out. PSM doesn't have many (if any) bypasses.

X2, with a driver who knows what they are doing, and with a spotter in the right places, this will be no problem especially with that rear locker. We had a stock YJ follow us through last time we went. And I made it through just fine on my 2wd 4wheeler (but I'm an experienced rider, but that trail is pretty much common sense.. there are 2 or 3 obstacles that I can remember that you will def want to have a spotter on but you will be fine.

It's my best friend's husbands truck, Britney. And that's where the problem lies. I have no doubt in my mind that Sherry will be just fine and she and I can get her through there with minimal issues. Her hubby is just way worried about his truck. It's obvious that body damage has never been an issue around our house so hence the basis of my concern. Sherry has followed me all over God's green creation and absolutely loves 4 wheeling. She's the nutball who always laughs when we get close to rolling.

Yes, she has driven quite a bit, but nothing quite as hard as PSM. I'm not concerned with her ability at all especially with her excellent spotter along. ;)

We took our '96 ZJ through there when it was new to us in '98. My wife hated every second of it, but the Jeep was totally fine up to the birth canal area. The dogs and kids loved every minute of it, though.

I guess if she scratches it it will reveal how much he really loves her.

PSM was my first-ever trail in Moab, in my totally stock '89 Toyota Xtracab. I came out with no damage, and an addiction that continues still. :) I vote go for it.

it was my first trail ever too, in my 87 s15 jimmy (stock).

I chickened out at the water fall, but it was perfectly fine up til then. I do distinctly remember being terrified lol.

PSM was a certain little Bronco's first trail as well. She was freshly painted with sun yellow Krylon, was sitting on 32's with a spool in the rear, a 3 speed on the tree, and had just experienced her first fender "trimming" with the trusty sawzall. I was mostly convinced we weren't making it out alive. :) I think that's a lot of the reason that trail holds such a special spot in my heart.
