I am going to start scrounging up a hood and grill for the buggy. What styles do you guys like. Looking for something I won't have to cry too hard when I wreck it. I will have to narrow it to fit the chassis I think.

I like the sheetmetal idea... that way you can be completely original. Unless the rig was intentionally designed with certain panels in mind, most hood/grille combos look "hack" IMO.

Also, this is what I'm stuck doing on mine.;)

I voted Willys, because I really miss mine. But if you go that direction you will find that they are EXPENSIVE.

Before I even read the option at the top and I just read the title to the thread, I said to myslef FSJ!! And then I saw it on there. I've never seen one on a buggy and I love the look of them. I sure wish my J20 never got stolen!

I have a few commando grills kickin around. not too many 'mando crawlers out there... well Craig made one...

that would be pretty awesome. I will have to look up some different grill styles and dimensions and see how they will work out. I have always wanted a comando. Got any hoods?

I really liked the look of Braden's buggy with the Beemer front clip. Gotta admit, that was different?

I thought of that exact build and then wondered if it would be hard and expensive

If I was better at sheetmetal work I would do this for sure. I am still considering this option

I vote CJ.

Might as well make it like every other buggy out there

we can't all be a different as you:)

That was my main concern was the expense. I wonder if greg still has the willys grill I sold him:(

It would be different and cool. Do you think the lines could work out narrowed?

I am doing CJ because that's what I have, but I voted sheetmetal just because of the "no more tears factor" if you mess it up.:D

That would be a cheap option.

I like the classics. Anything old school adds the to the over all look of a rig and makes it cool looking. If you are into the jeep look then go with your choice. Personally, one of my all time favorite buggies was Bart's Willys inspired buggy. With the old school tail lights, Willy's grill but, killer lines and longer looks.

I voted willys, but I think it would be cool to hammer out something that looked like an old model A grill or something you would see on a rat rod.

Thanks LT. It had the longer looks because I was able to squeeze the winch behind the grill instead of in front.
