Pony Express Run

Jacey and I met up with the UXOC (Utah Xterra Owners Club) crew on Saturday for their annual Pony Express run. There were 11 Xterra's in all, ranging from stock - to lifted and locked, from yellow to Knight Armor grey. :p

We did about 400 miles round trip, and I loved the way that the Xterra handled, givin it's stock form. Getting used to hearing the VDC 'Vehicle Dynamic Control' took awhile for me. I ended up turning it off most the time anyways. I feel that with some better tires, this is a very capable and sturdy rig off-road.

I was one of two rigs that did not have gas cans tied to the roof... Almost felt left out.

On with the pics..

What way did you go? I just did a similar trip two weeks ago going through Callao, by Grafton, through Gold Hill and onto Wendover. Definately one of my favorite drives.

The only thing I don't like about the trip you guys made is when you have to drive for a month and a half across I-80 to get home from Wendover.

haha, i did love the trip meat, it was great funny thing we were driving back and i noticed someone stuck down by the lake so i tried to pull them out but with no success, then left and got stuck in the snow. because i was indecisive on which way to go haha. pulled out my little army shovel, and dug it out in less than 10 mins and off we went :)

Gas cans on the roof are overrated. Looks like a fun trip. Really like the pics, especially the b&w ones.

Thank you Bart!

I'm not a fan of the can on the roof either.. Seemed to be the norm with these fellas.. and ladies.. Then again, some people might not like the idea of the fuel cans inside the vehicle either, which is what I do. Doesn't bother me.

I would have put mine inside but I was carrying food and tons of other stuff I really didn't need in the back seat. I haven't put any tie down spots on the back of my box in the trunk yet. PS I am the only one with 2 can's on the roof! And I didn't even need it since I have a jerry can holder on the back bumper now.

It's all good, some people like the cans on the roof. BTW, we all rolled into Wendover with atleast a quarter tank left. :)

You've got a sweet rear bumper
