Can anyone tell me the name of the seal that is located under the cover where the 4 top bolts go? The cover also has the steering adjustment nut.

This one is leaking and I need to replace it,,, But I don't know what it is called.

Saginaw style.

Thanks,

I don't know the name either, but it comes included in most steering box seal & rebuild kits.

If you do get a seal kit, get a master kit. The morons at most parts stores don't know the difference between a lower seal kit and a master seal kit.

You got me thinking about something Shawn... Is the AGR box you just got already tapped for hydro assist? The reason I ask is because if it's not, are you gonna do it if you start replacing seals anyway? If it's already tapped and you just want to replace the "sector shaft cap seal" (unsure if thats the technical term), then you're good to go.

The AGR box just needs this top seal to be ready to run. The one I have on the Cruiser now has a lower ratio and will be the one I rebuild and Tap, gota have the assist.. :)
If I had the cash now, I would just do the AGR and be done with it...but.... I don't have the $200.00++ for the assist.. :(

Typically, it's $120 complete with fittings. I think $150+ is the norm in the industry.

Von,
You folks do that over there? Or is there someone else you recommend in the Valley?

Sure, we tap Saginaw style and Toyota P/S boxes. We also have the kits which include a 6" or 8" custom heavywall ram, hoses, fittings, etc... It's on the 'site. :)
