not trying to be dumb, but the shrill squeek you are talking about "sounds" like the pressure bypass valve and not the pulley spinning (if that was not what you meant, disregard).

I had intially thought it wa internal but I could see the pully continue to spin while the shaft stopped...

I think I have fixed it with a new pully and some mild loctite... so far it is quiet. ;)

Alright, here is the latest... pump "sqweek" is gone.. but I want to get a wider belt if possible... the one on there now is decent (the same size every Chevy uses) but I want to be safe. My crank pulley will accomodate a large belt... 21/32"...

Anyone know an application that came with a large-belt pulley? At least larger than the Chevy one?

Also, I think that one problem with my system is the low idle of my cruiser... I can crawl at 400 RPM's, but when I go to turn at the low RPM's... the pump doesn't create the needed pressure... soooo... if I get a smaller PS pulley, the pumps angular velocity will increase at an idle therefore creating more pressure.... I don't anticipate a problem turning it, my motor doesn't feel the loss as is... Anyone agree on my logic?

What about a double belt set up like some of the amc motors?

Do they have a app like that for a chevy motor?

Just an idea, I have no evidence of the existence of such a thing.

I run duel belts on my power steering pump with a chevy engine so it can be done, but I think he still runs the toy engine? It does help keep the belts from slipping.

Ah ha... you guys are brilliant...

I do run a Toyota... but I had room for a second belt on my crank pulley... I actually have a PS double pulley in the back of my work truck.... :D
