My new project for my son. Since he's turning 5 next week, I deceided it's time to fix his little Powerwheels up. Logan has been after me for a while to fix his again so why not. Sooooo....

Upgrade list:
15" SnowHawg snowblower tires (2" taller than the stockers)
Go-kart rims/hubs/steering/brakes/axles
90cc Kazuma quad shocks
350w 24v electric scooter motor, wiring harness/ sprocket
2-4 batteries just depends on how it works out
Original Power wheels body
5 point NHRA Jr. Dragster harness
New car seat
Full roll cage
remote kill (PAGING R/C ADDICT contact me!)
extended wheel base from 28" to 42"
width will be about 34"-35" (stock is 34")
1" square tube frame .060"
1" round tube for roll bar
plus anything else that I can think of
Now right now I'm just getting it to 2 wheel drive mode. By winter it will have 4 wheel drive. I've picked up a cool little go cart differential for this. I'll add another motor in the front also.
Before anyone gets after me for not making this a gasser, you can kiss EKSJAE's butt. I have 20 e-scooters sitting here at my disposal plus for crap's sake he's only 5! I do plan to make the car seat removable so the builder may test his design.

-_-

the real reasons he wont make it gas powered.

1 joe doesnt like it when a family member shows him up.:D

2 he is affraid his son will drive like he does, and if thats the case he shouldnt be building this.

3 the kid has already rolled the original powerwheels jeep, he shouldnt drive anything with any more power.

Are those batteries in the picture BP-12's? If so, want to sell two of them? :D

Oh, and kick *ss project!!!! I'll definately follow this, as I'm thiking the same thing when my son get's on in years.....:greg: I like the removable seat option the best. Builder definately needs to test his design! And maybe play while the little one is down for a nap!! :D

I think that's what they are. Half of my scooters have 2-12v 12mah batteries. But I'm not sure if I'm running 2 or 4 of them versus 2-12v 18amp batteries. I'll have to take a look at how many I have before I start selling them off.

FYI to make one 4wd, just for the front dif, sprocket, axle halfs is about $375. That doesn't include hubs, steering, rims, tires, brakes.

That sounds  awsome. My 3 year olds power wheels 4 wheeler runs 6 volt motors on 12 volts. It's plenty fast for her now,but for how long....;)

How do you say bad ass?
Just like that and thank you. Sorry no updates since the first welds. Been fighting a cold off. Hopefulley wednesday/thursday on the rest of the main frame will be done.

Still sick with a wicked cold, so welding is put on hold. Saturday I will do it. The metal frame is very light.

Look'n good. Are you using a stick welder, or a wire feed with flux-core?

Maybe you have West Nile... :ugh:

Will West Nile make you weld like that? :D

Wire feed/ flux core and my welding skill are slooooowly improving. I need to get some splatter spray. Yeah I know that won't help much.

If you are splattering a lot, try adjusting the wire speed and heat. Finding the right combination might help.

FYI FWIW, lower wire speed will increase the amount of heat, just as if you were to kick the heat up a notch.

Flux core will splatter, though, so maybe what you have going is normal....
