I keep my truck at half tank as much as possible, which is pretty much anytime it hits half tank now. It a good habit IMHO

Cars full of fuel, lots of water (most of it is currently frozen, need to work on that), some food, not enough. Some med supplies, not enough. Multiple 2M radios, but need HF gear. Generator is the next thing on my list. Cabin is propane powered and a spring is nearby, but without power, furnace and stuff no worky. Honda 2000i is the one I'm looking at, cuz then I can buy a second and link them together. And it will get used a lot, so always ready and working.
Thinking a big quake is the most realistic scenario we are going to see, more than zombies/govt/other.

I'd say natural disaster is at the top of the likely list along with the expectation of certain people in our society that our government will care for them and "fix" everything in the ensuing aftermath. We've seen how well that works in some pretty mild disasters over the last several years.
I also believe that the next on the list might be something beyond our imagination or not like anything in the recent history. Epidemic, some crazy catastrophic event affecting the food supply, etc.
