Trip Report Price UT - May 18-19, 2019

Starting off a report thread for last weekend in Price. I'm glad we got to tag along with King Crawlers and Wasatch Outlaws for the trail runs this weekend. It turned out for a fun and eventful trip.

Saturday we met at Market Express 9am to decide where to go since there was a variety of rigs that showed up. We all eventually agreed on Pinnacle 1 with the possibility of Pinnacle 2 after if the timing was good. A local friend from Price rode shotgun with me and we followed the group up Pinnacle 1. Four of us veered off into the wash to play on the rocks and ended up playing catch-up for a big part of the trail. We eventually caught up to them at one of the bigger non-bypassable obstacles.

I'm not sure of the name of this obstacle, but it's pretty deceiving. The water there a is really deep, you can sink your whole front end into it!

Fun day for sure! Hopefully those who went up Pinnacle 2 will have more photos. We headed back for the day.

Day 2 we hit a couple trails. We started out on a trail called Curse Canyon. While rated decently low, if you stay on the upper trail above the wash, it's a really fun drive. A lot of ups and downs and various gulch crossings to keep it pretty entertaining. It spits you out on a gas well road pretty far North of Price so you can pop on over to some of the others like Diff Hanger, Gremlin and even Judgement Day.

After Curse, we headed to Gremlin. I've never done this trail and it was a pretty cool bouldery trail. I'd like to go back and mix that trail in with a couple of the others close by.

That trail really flexed up the rigs, it was pretty cool to see them get the JK through there without much damage when it got kinda binded into the rocks! Excellent spotting done by the group.

As we got off Gremlin it started to rain and I wanted to get heading back home for the day. I think some of the group went to check out Judgement Day. Again, hopefully we'll get a report from there at some point.

Great pictures, thanks for the update. Looks like an awesome time and a fun crew/set of rigs. I'm just going to sit here behind my keyboard and sulk for a while... definitely jealous. Next time!

Man I wish I could have made this trip! Looks like you guys had a good time. I would really like to learn these trails better in the future.

shane, this is brian. i lost your number, my wife will give your parents our numbers so it will be easy for you to get in touch to set up some furture rides with the KC's. we did end up running 2 rigs up judgement day in record time, the others didnt want to risk breakdowns or long delays with some heavy black clouds overhead. ill post some pics and video of the two days when i get a little time, in the meantime the outlaws and the KC have stuff posted on facebook now.

It’s been a long time since I ran Price (with U4WD like 12 + years ago) I think I can find pinnacle where is pinnacle 2 is it after the exit of 1? Gonna head down probably a week day due to a busy summer schedule

Pinnacle 2 is over the rail road tracks second oil well road on your left, down off the hill in the river bed

Guess I should have explained, yes after you exit pinnacle 1 turn right on the first improved gravel road you get too, go about a mile, at the four way(all dirt) turn left and about 1/2 a mile you should cross rail road tracks
