I just love how Cody words everything, its so graceful and flows so smoothly. I think you should become a writer.

For the Compass :D

Did another one roll today I know friday that yellow tj rolled in our group with the safari. That was crazy for sure. She went end over the long way. I will be reinforcing my roll cage when we get home.

I *think* I overheard the trail leader (or maybe gunner) say that they had 3 rolls on Thursday.... I dunno the raffle was a blur of activity

I'm more scared of off camber stuff now than I was 10 years ago off road. WTF is up with that?

Clean and sober now?

really? I didn't know that...i thought it was...

...look, i've seen a 1/2 dozen buggies on Pritchett blow thru it like it was nothing. An incredible vehicle makes things look easy. No sh@# that Walker Evans wouldn't get his adrenalin up...my bad. But i was talking about the average wheeler. And the average wheeler doesn't go on Pritchett btw, and really are there that many people competing in rockcrawling? I think i only know 2..

...of course you're right here, this canyon is much scarier in my Frontier because of it's center of gravity.

I just looked back and realized what stirred you up, I wasn't commenting on your experience with Pritchett, I stated my opinion of Pritchett and then quoted you to tell you what the name of the hill is.

I ran it yesterday and then hauled an xj out that had rolled on RK. Buggy walked everything including the rock pile. Pritchet was a blast like always, except for the long ride out with xj in tow.

I get the feelin' that a few of you are going after me for my comments here. nothing is personal; i don't know anyone on RME because i haven't been in Utah very long. I need to join a club and find someone to wheel with.

anyway i may have the wrong perspective; i thought people 4wheel on a hard trail like Pritchett because they want to be challenged and get a rush. if someone is so hard core or so 'cool' under fire that they don't get the least bit flustered, then try skydiving or something. i mean what is the point of wheeling?

And all those rollovers on Pritchett? if its not a hard trail, then why so much carnage? somebody said define the average wheeler  uh okay, well it's hard to do but maybe all the carnage was from 'average wheelers' going someplace they don't belong. i saw 10? yotas going up pritchett last year and i can say with all confidence that some of them did NOT belong. i saw a HUGE built Chev with a group of fullsize blazers and pickups there once. The guys rig was built right but he was skeered visibly.

the average wheeler is a guy/gal in a TJ with a bolt on lift running a warn winch and 35s, and lots of bolt on and chrome. i don't know! sorry i brought it up:D

as for me, since my vehicle has evolved faster than my skill, i've found Pritchett much easier. but when it gets to being like it was nothing, i'll prolly stop going.

I don't know, maybe to get out of the city, be within nature's majesty with good friends and have a great time? Trust me, I like the rush of challenging terrain more than most people, but you can only get the willies from Dump Bump for the first couple times before it's just more of the same. Doesn't mean it's not fun anymore though.

People that can't drive, people that have no experience, people that have underbuilt rigs and/or overbuilt ego's, or people that think rolling over is funny. There are lots of all of the above.

Sounds about right, and that rig would have no problem on Pritchett if you had a driver that wasn't totally green.

Fair enough. But I think being in a very remote place that few people have had the opportunity to see is a rush in and of itself. If it takes 150 miles of fairly tame dirt road to get there or 2 miles of thrashing, it's all worth it in the end. :D :D :D

I've run Pritchett many times, and still love it. I don't care who you are, if you're not getting a thrill on Rock Pile, you're brain dead.

I haven't run it in a full bodied rig of my own, but I guarentee it'll be more of a thrill than in my old pile of junk.

Like has been said previously, it's relative to what you drive and what you're used to.

x2. Drove the old RP twice last week and it still gives me the heebie geebies. :D

Anybody notice the base rock breaking out a little more? I'm assuming it's mostly from the ice getting into it over the winter, but rp is getting a tiny bit deeper every year. :D

Interesting that the first ledge has eroded away again. That was the one and only place that really scared me going down in a big sprung over wagon. I almost went over there once in about 2002. I absolutely love that trail too, there is nothing like spanking that trail especially with 35's (which are sort of small). Sounds like it is fun :) I guess maybe there was a lot of moisture over the winter to have it wash out that bad...
