I still think the problem is with inexperienced drivers or incapable rigs (or any combination of both) trying to run Pritchett. That run is not for the masses.

Agreed, there is a reason I have never been on this trail. I have never had a rig or been with a group that I felt was capable of running the trail.
This is a problem I am rectifying. ASAP.

That's why I thought it was such a bad idea to make the entrance so much easier. Kept some of the riff-raff out.

It was also part of the experience to the trail. You knew that if you didn't have good luck ahead that coming back out was going to be quite the experience! :D

All this hype about Pritchett has me missing my '85 4runner.. :(

I drove to Moab, wheeled Pritchett, then drove home. That's awesome.

My dumb grand cherokee does it too ;)

It's not that hard of a trail if your rig is sufficiently equiped and you have a decent amount of experience

Experience being the key. Hell, we took a jeep on 33's and a rear locker to axle hill with out much trouble at all. But nowing when to stop is a big thing for this trail.

I hear ya.. Just sayin, I don't have the capabilities equipment wise anymore..
we still talkin bout your truck? :D

Regardless if it was a rig with 28" tires and no lockers busted down, there's no excuse to go around and make a bypass. It's not just the under equiped rigs that break on that trail, it's the guys with D60's/40's as well.

What he shoudl have done, was get his buddies out of their rigs and help the guy either fix his junk, or move it out of the way so he could fix it off to the side and not hold up everyone else. THAT is proper trail etiquette...
