Land Rover Project: Sexy Back: Love is in the Eye of the beholder.

Engine mounts are all welded up. The engine is holding itself in place. Next up the transmission mounts.

Update. I might get this started soon. I'm missing my hold down bracket for the vacuum pump that is run off the back of the cam. So hopefully I can locate that soon.

Wiring is 95% done.

I need to get a new alternator. Another battery. And install my Land Rover power steering pump.

I just need to mount my fuel filter. All the lines are hooked up otherwise.

That's about it. Maybe I'll fire it up this week.

IT Fired, for couple of seconds on WD40.

The lift pump / fuel pump, isn't working. So I ordered another one. $14. The Ford Starter Relay was also dead, i used a ford starter relay for my glow plug relay set up. So I ordered a new one for $8.

I should be ready to fire on Monday.

I have a little fuel at the injectors. But my guess is the IP is dead. So I'm going to find one. Usually you can find rebuilt ones for $300 for this thing. Parts are super cheap. That's one major reason to use this motor!

The lift pump only cost me $15. On the mercedes engine it was $150.

I have pulled a number of those IP pumps off of trucks at picknpull. Call them a 'fuel pump' when paying (they don't have injector pump on the parts list) They usually run me about $15.

Ok so on another forum they think something might be stuck inside.

They said to get a clean bucket and then unhook my fuel line from my tank. And suck some diesel clean through the IP.

They said that should fix it.

I do have fuel reaching some injectors. So maybe that'll fix it.

Does anyone know if kerosene would work as well?

The way my 7.3 worked was that the fuel pump delivered to the IP, which gave higher pressure to individual cylinders. I imagine this is the same.
