I took my Montero out on a maiden voyage today up Providence Canyon this afternoon and I only made it about a mile past the parking lot. I could have made it farther, but the snow pack was really icy and the snow was really wet. I hoped out of my rig to drain the main vain and I fell on my but it was so icy. The snowmobiles have really made the trail icy and the snow we have received over the past week on top of that ice make for slippery conditions.

That being said, I was very happy with the way my little box performed. These little Monteros are very underrated offroad rigs. I love this thing.

If you stay on existing roads in Green Canyon, you'll likely be OK. If you're off the road, I think you could have some issues if you're caught. The trespassing signs don't stay up very long at all, unfortunately.

True words.

At this time, the lower FS gate is closed on the Green Canyon road. So the only legal wheeling you can do is drive the short ways to the gate, turn around, and return. Wooo hooo.

Climbing any of the side hills would be seriously frowned upon.
