Post them if you've got them, boring or not.

I finally had my first crash with my Phantom2. I'm using Fatshark attitude goggles with a gimbal mounted gopro for the camera.

I felt pretty good about my flying, until I went out of range of the goggles... I think I must have pulled down on the elevator stick instead of pressing up. For some reason it just feels right to pull back on the stick to gain elevation:confused:

Anyway, I was trying to find a herd of deer that usually hang out in this area. You can see them around 45 seconds in the video, but I was getting static on my screen and couldn't see them at the time. I'll get some better antennas coming this week.

I wonder if this is going to be the new way to hunters are going to scout for the big animals, so they don't have to get out and hike around. If this happens do they have to wait the appropriate time? The same way if you were flying over in a plane/ helicopter?

I'm sure these will be banned pretty soon, they are way too much fun. It would be hard to use for scouting, but shed hunting might be effective:D

I understand, I had the same thought. The limiting factor would be the range of the radio. I guess if they are too lazy to hike the couple thousand feet you get from the radio, it would be worth it.

The system I'm using with 5 batteries and all the crap I bought cost around $3k so they better be extra lazy:D I'm sure someone will try it and someone will make a law against it.

OOOF....yeah those crashes hurt! Get some circularly polarized antennae or clover leafs. Remember that the video signal is pretty much line of sight so if you go over a bluff you're done. Crank up on the altitude and hit the failsafe so it will come back. Whatever altitude you are at above like 30m it will hold on its way back so if you're high enough to avoid the ridge lines or trees you will be fine calling it back with fail-safe

A couple of my bloopers from the past few days...none of which I saw as the video feed dropped out. Didn't seem them until reviewing the footage later!

I can't believe how lucky you got near that rooftop! At least if you hit the dirt on the hillside you may be able to get it back, not too sure about the rooftop. Does anyone give you any shit about flying in the city like that? Cool vids.

Nobody cares. It is of course important to "tread lightly". I don't buzz around windows of houses, I don't harass pedestrians, I try to keep away from crowds where I don't have a good exit strategy to land the craft away from crowds. These things could really hurt someone if it flew into a person so that is always on my mind when flying in town or around crowds. Cops literally don't give a shit. As long as we fly with respect we should avoid run-ins with the law.

Had my first crash, and almost got it stuck 35 feet up in a tree. Luckily after what seemed like forever messing with the controls I finally got it loose.

We gotta get you set up with some anti-jello mounts for your camera and probably a prop balancer. Fixes a lot of the issues with wavy-gravy jello footage!

Actually, I've got it fixed. It's the place I was flying. There is some weird interference in that cemetery. I've flown there three times and I always get strange stuff going on. If I fly anywhere else I don't get the jello.

You're getting some great footage spencurai, congrats. What drone are you using? I'd love to see some of that footage at 24fps.

I need some drone footage, I need to hire one of you guys one of these days.

I have some real awesome footage but unfortunately you'll have to wait for it to be released by the clients.

Let me know what you're looking to do Steve. I have a good group of dudes that can pull off just about anything video production wise.
