Baofeng has traditionally had some extremely inexpensive handheld ham radios. The one you linked is the UV-5RA model for $31.28. They also offer a similar-looking UV-5R+ model for just a few bucks more: $40.99. I don't know what the technical differences are; I'm just sharing info for those who might want to know. Amazon direct links are here:

It will probably get me car to car in the dunes...

I know nothing about this stuff but the price is right and they have a ton of good reviews.

I think Ill order a couple and see just how far they go.

I recently bought a Baofeng UV-5RAX+. The manual sucks, and absolutely get a programming cable for it. Chirp seems to be the best way to program the unit and even that isn't super clear (well, to me at least). I will be ordering the larger battery for it, external mag mount antenna, upgraded whip antenna and car power adapter. I can program by hand a handful of frequencies to listen, but as I'm not licensed yet, I won't talk on it anytime soon. I realize the FCC isn't the powerhouse they used to be back in the 70s before CB radio got out of hand, but I still have respect for the airwaves and protocols.

The plastic is a bit "hard" and not sure how it will hold up, but otherwise the radio feels pretty solid. Maybe someone with a HAM license could speak to the radios capabilities.

I got mine off Amazon for less than $35...

For your RZR I would just spend a little bit more and get a full on 50 watt mobile. Then if you want to have a few of these for your buddies and one to keep at camp it will be great. Just to give you an idea I use a 50 watt modded ham radio that I picked up for $100 with a 1/4 wave $40 antenna in my Teryx in Wendover I had zero issue hitting anywhere including the far south check point. Most of the crew was using 5 watt handhelds and I had to do a bunch of relay during the race because of distance limits.

Also another experience was a few years ago we did a small group trip from Escalante to lake powel and one member in the group was using a hand held and he could always hear us but we had several issues hearing him through out the trip. It got to the point we would just start repeating directions and wait for him to come into range again.
