So my wife and I have the whole house completely ripped apart right now cleaning and look what I found!!!

Remember bmx bikes? Almost everyone I grew up with rode these and we watched this movie all the time. Mosh, SE, Hutch, RedLine, Schwinn, Haro, Norco, GT and even Huffy made some pretty sick bikes in the day... The memories are all coming back now. Its all we ever did in grade school thru junior high. I even raced for a few years and have a few trophies somewhere.

I don't think kids ride these anymore. Seems like the video games and internet really took over :(

I was so bummed out when my dad told me that he gave away all his old Schwinn Sting Rays that I swore I'd never do the same with the ol' Ripper... Hopefully my kids will think its cool. Ha ha

I never saw the movie, nor did I do the actual BMX thing--but I had a BMX-style bike, along with just about everyone else I knew....and I lived on it. Everything I did, everywhere I went, was on that bike. It baffles me to see how much kids today DON'T ride.

I remember RAD, that movie was awesome! BMX isn't totally dead, my little brother races about every other weekend down in south jordan, and sometimes out in Tooele.

Wow. My brother had a PK Ripper and I had a Redline until they both got stolen. I haven't seen one for probably 25 years.

Are you kidding me?
We are actually racing tonight! Indoor track in South Jordan!
My 7 and 5 year old and myself race BMX! It's a flippin blast!
First I started my 7 year old when he was 5. And my then 3 year old begged to race too, so I said, "if you can make it around the whole track without crashing, you can race the 5 year olds" He did it. So he has been racing the 5 year olds for almost 3 years. He is almost 6. I'm 37 and can barely keep up with the older 40+ year olds!!

I LOVED that movie. I was heavy into freestyle BMX back when. :D RAD had a sweet endtro w/a lot of the big names from back then. And the Hell Track! Watch out Cru!! LOL

That right there is a new-skool PK Ripper. I broke one of the old ones jumping it. :D The Ripper, the Quadangle, and the Floval Flyer were legendary bikes, and different than most of the rest. :D

We watched that movie every day in our summers out of school, then we would head out and jump curbs

I still have a PK Ripper and the Landing Gear forks, my Ripper is busted though. I broke the frame right at the seat post clamp right above the top bar. I know it can be fixed so I have always keep it around.

Carson and Addy should head over here when it gets warm. Ty and I spent a lot of last summer on our bikes, and this summer we'll do more. As soon as it's warm I'm going to see if Tyler can ride his bike along with me while I run. I would love to have him along with me.

Two of my favorite movies from back in the day are Rad and Gleaming the Cube...and there's a reason both are part of my digital movie collection. :D

Deal. :D It should help motivate Carson to ride more too, having a friend to do it with. (it's different with a parent)

Sweet! :greg: It is really cool to see your family involved with this. Good to see all the safety gear too! Its a bit of a drive for me, but my wife and I would really like to watch a race sometime. She was into BMX too... well into hanging out with BMX dudes anyway :hickey:

I'm starting to wonder if there is any races held around here. There used to be indoor and outdoor, but it long gone last I checked :(

:greg: Most people I rode with had never heard of SE Racing. I got really good grades and my parents rewarded me with mine. Back then it was about $400 :ugh: so I was very great-full. My friend had an SE Bronco that was pretty cool but it's cro-moly frame was so yesterday back then :p

I think I'm going to fix mine up. I'll have to add the 3 piece cranks that I could never afford along with some other parts that are missing :D

EDIT: Oh dang check this out!!! http://www.sebikes.com/Retro/PKRipperLooptail.aspx retro style!
