I'm looking into getting a good truck for a DD i've looked into these three trucks and just wanted to know what you guys think about these three or if you know of anyothers that mit be good to look at. I'll mostly use it for driving up Provo Canyon to Heber from Orem. I mit also use it to flat tow my samurai don't know for sure? I'm only looking to spend around $10-13K

I'd buy the Taco. No question.

Taco gets my vote. I had a Ranger and it was a great truck, but the Taco beats in almost every aspect.

Taco, hands down!

OK........just hypothetical. How old and what mileage of Taco are we looking at in that price range? I might investigate a crew Dakota for that price range. Available V8 and everything if it were me (but I'd be buying a 3/4 or ton truck rather than the Taco)

dakotas are bad@ss if you can get a 318 w/manual or a 5.9l auto. i love dakotas.
toyotas are too dang expensive and the ones that are affordable have 300,000 miles. good trucks though

I already have a 85 F250 Diesel but it's getting old and starting to cost money so i'm planning on selling it. I need the good gas milage i would like to have a 1999 or newer. with about 50K for like i said around $10k-13k. i have looked at Dakotas but forgot to put it up on the poll.

I'd have voted for the Taco anyway....12 so far, 100% taco. That's gotta tell you something...we're all in bed with Toyota

How 'bout a high mileage CTD? '99 or newer though, gonna limit things.

That gets my vote over the Taco, and mileage should be close if not the same.

What mileage will the Taco get?

A '96 chev Vortec 350 will get 16, and flat tow that sammy like it ain't there. Had a '95 1/2ton, xcab shorty, 350 & 5 speed, got 14-16, flat towed great. Not much for heavy jeep on trailer stuff, but wasn't meant to (had plenty of power, just soft suspension). You could even find a '98 or '99 for $13k. You're gettin' a LOT more truck (if it matters) and you can take a few friends/family too.

That said, for a DD that didn't really need to tow, and no family, I'd get a Taco. Sis has one, and I/they love it. Even has the rear locker.
