Coil breakage

Wayne, you should post a shot of that spring on here. That was about the coolest/bad thing I have seen.

Damn that was fun. I loved the smell of buring rubber, cause that is the only time a zuk can do that. I have been passed by big powerful trucks and seen other wheelers flex more than me. But power nor articulation matters to me any more. I am not trying to boast, honestly, very surprised at myself and my zuk. Thank you for the congrats.

I must admit that I was a victim of breakage. I had a u-joint go bad first thing in the morning. Using a spare front driveline we swaped slip yokes in 5 mins and carried on. Not sure which bro is was but thank you very very much. I would love to get back this weekend but I need to wait for a buddy coming home for leave from the army.

That spring was crazy. I dont know how it held on for so long. Good to see you getting it back in service. For me, I may be 2wheelin it for a while unless I can find a great deal on some used axles. There is no way I buy new.

I got the new springs ordered today and I'll be ready to wheel this weekend! :D Anyone up for RS/CON this weekend??? :D

Wayne, I may be going. Gonna be up camping near 5-mile Friday night. If I can convince the others to come along, I can meet up wit you on Saturday morning. Not sure if I'll even try the CON. I haven't done either before and have been itching to try. I am moving in a few days, and REALLY don't want to break anything. So I may just stick to RS.

all of the samurais made it up constrictor with no breakage and the largest was a 31" tire and the smallest was a p215/70/r15..good day of wheelin...infact one SPOA samurai with open diffs stock gearing and on 28" tires made it all the way up to the eagles next competely unassisted and didnt bypass a thing...sure smoked some tires and clutch though! Same guy that got up waynes world open.....Cody sure knows how to hammer down!

yeah, but you only did rattlesnake..and I was posting about constrictor..therefore the largest tire was, infact a 31" tire. You shoulda done constrictor with us buddy!! it was a blast. Not near as hard as everyone makes it out to be. wiht a sammy you dont evne really need flex, you just fit inbetween everything!.

the high rating comes from the waterfall at the end. I still need to come to you house and watch the video. I think that if my wife sees it, she wont let me go wheeling, at least she wont go with me.

When I ran it last week (first time) I thought it was pretty difficult, at least a 4. I got hung up in two spots, but one if not both I'm blaming on my spotter. I've never had issues with the 4+ trails in Moab, I thought this was worse than those. My two cents anyways.

I have to say it gets a solid 4(on the moab scale)when you think of 3.5 trails in moab(fins n'things, top of the world, goldbar rim, 7mile rim to name a few) this trail was much harder than any of the 3.5 trails in moab...when you start into the 4rated trails (poison spider, hells revenge, etc)its about as hard as those trails, providing that you arent taking any bypasses on those trails..you get into the 4+/5 rated trails in moab (moab rim, pritchet, cliffhanger, behind the rocks) you really cant compare..constrictor is definatly easier....so, I think it gets a solid 4 rating. No reason for a 5 except for the requiered winching...People tend to rate the trails by what 'they' consider a hard trail for them in their own rig...so for a stock jeep, maybe constrictor is a 4/4.5....but in something with a lift, lockers, gears etc, it is so easy that in 'their' opinion itso nly a 3.5...so, since you are going on the moab scale, you have to compare it to comparable trails of difficulty in moab, NOT how easy you thought the trail was in your particular rig.

I agree... Constrictor is only a 5 because of the waterfall. Everywhere else is a 4+. Rattlesnake is rated a 3+. The + for the more difficult lines. JMO But then again, you have to rate the trail on it's difficult to complete it, and that does make Constrictor a 5 - Dual lockers and winch requried is a very accurate description. Expect body damage? Well, all depends on the driver I think....

Both trails have changed alot... :-\

As for the 5 on Constrictor, I don't think any of the 4+ trails in Moab have a 7' waterfall that only has one (or SHOULD only have one) route up it.

We voted on the trails ratings and though it was a petty close call, I think they are right on.

Does anyone have a good pic of the waterfall at Constrictor? I'd like to know how tough this thing is... I'm not the type to back down, and if I go up to it, I'll try it even if I know I probably won't be able to do it. So if I have a good idea what it's like, I'll know if I should stay away from it or not...
