Rattlesnake/FiveMile Snow Trip on Feb 1st

6 rigs felt the need to get out in the snow at Rattlesnake today. Some may call it crazy, but I call it relaxation at its best.

Troop92
smartass_kid
Tonkaman (w/ co-pilot)
Nappy (with co-pilot)
Hardy6pack (with co-pilots)
ricsrx (with son)

We met up at the Maverik in Eagle Mountain a little before 9:30 and headed out on our way. Hit the staging area a little before 10am.

There was another group getting ready, but they were fixing some mechanical issues. We aired down, loaded up, and headed up Rattlesnake with ricsrx in the lead. Some of the lines took a little, uh, finessing, but we all did great. We did have to tug ricsrx sideways to enable him to back up over a rock. I think he said "well, it's there, so I had to do it." Something along those lines. :D

After Rattlesnake, we went up the mine tailings and over to Wayne's World. It was attempted by ricsrx, at least front wheels up on first ledge, but with the snow not much further. Clearly we weren't getting up it, but it was pretty cool to see what I'd like my rig to be able to do someday.

From there our group split a bit (Nappy and Hardy6pack, 6pack to return after running a passenger back to the trailhead), and the rest continued on up the mountain. We had a few hairy hillclimbs and descents, but had a lot of fun even when things got sideways.

I bailed with Smartass_kid, leaving ricsrx and Tonkaman to continue up the trail. We encountered Hardy6pack on the way down. We Ventured to a different trail, found a good way to bypass Rattlesnake, hit up a water/ice hole (Smartass_kid, you have those vids?), and eventually ended up back at the staging area.

Guys, it was great to meet all of you. Had an excellent time, and learned a lot about how my rig. Hoping to get out more and more, hopefully you'll help me facilitate that... :D

SNOW!!
I needed a little Jeep support due to my over zealous unstoppable need to get stuck, Hunter got a little time behind the wheel playing in the snow.
we drove up to WW and I put my front tires on it but couldn't make it any further, then wheeled the roads to the top of the mountain.

man I wish I'd come. I was up til 6 at work and I didn't get up until around 5 pm today. I've had some legal issues that have kept me up at night so I needed the sleep. Next time!!! i feel bad, this is the 2nd time I've bailed!

oh yeah, my room mate has a 90's bronco with a pro comp lift on 35's. it's pretty sweet. I'll try to get him to come, but i think it may just be a way over-qualified mall crawler :-/

Cool pics guys. I'd love to join you on the next outing. Did the guy with the DC Taco fix his issues with the rear locker?

I assume you mean my DC taco, but I haven't had any locker issues. You must have me confused with someone else.

I will say that the Tacoma did excellent! I am so impressed by how well this little truck does with little modification. I can't wait to get out more in it

Yeah, there was an extended cab Taco that went up Old Ward with us. He's still tracking that down. Different rig.

I finally got up my pics at the beginning of the thread. Need to take more next time, or have a passenger that just walks alongside!

Oh right, my bad. I got them confused. But I love those double cabs, they are great looking rigs with awesome capability!
