Rear Swaybar

I went to an offroad show last weekend and I was talking with one of the vendors who had some very nice looking jeeps. In part of our conversation I mentioned a rear sway bar and he said he doesn't use the rear sway bar he took it off his jeep and uses the aftermarket front sway bar only. I got a little turned off when he started saying how on trips he is the one that makes it through the trails and he is the one that has to pull everyone else out when they get stuck. I am fairly new to the sport but the only jeeps that I have seen without a rear sway bar are the serious rock crawlers. What are thoughts on removing the rear sway bar I have the Teraflex front sway bar which I can set for trail or street by turning a knob. Would it matter removing the rear one, would you have to put straps on so you don't over extend a shock?

It is a JK and I live in a smaller town so not any highway driving. I don't drive daily but like to take around when not wheeling, easier to get around then my truck.

The best way for YOU to know if YOU should run without one is for YOU to spend 5 minutes and disconnect it. If YOU like it, that's all that matters. Not every rig needs a front or rear sway bar. You can build your suspension to overcome it.
