Recommendation for broken cases

I picked up an 05 yz250 for my oldest boy. It's a great bike with some good parts and we got a good deal from a friend of a friend. The bad, the oil drain plug has been hit hard and broke the case and has been jb welded. Has anyone had success having something like this welded or should I source an eBay case?

Ebay. That rough cast stuff never welds well and when it does it pulls away just outside the HAZ aND breaks there.

Depends on what you need the bike to be. Race bike? Replace it. Kids trail bike? Silicone it inside and JB Weld it outside.

I'd eBay a case and be done with it. It's so frustrating to pull a bike back apart when a cheap fix doesn't work.

I ended up having having moto Mike's in Spanish Fork weld them. He fixes a broken spot on the stator as well as the oil drain bolt. Charged me half what cases were going for on ebay.
