Not bad at all, how was this venue vs. the Great Salt Lake excursion? It has me looking for vehicles that are older. I think it is a good thing.

Great trip! Great group! The countdown to RR2011 starts now!

I'm on an expedition to tell everyone how great the Relic Run is. Regardless of locale, it's the best trip you'll ever go on. Speaking expeditionally, the GSL trip was hotter than the Uinta trip. However, both were awesome.

Sami and Brian can definitely farm the fuzz...

Well I found a ride for the 2011 relic run. It's a 1979 Plymouth Arrow with a factory Low 4x4 conversion. It has a Dana 20 tcase and a Dana 30 front axle. All I need to do is get her up and running. I may also need to change the ring and pinions because they are 3.55's which makes it a complete dog.

The venue rocked, though I think we could have a group of Relic campers in a parking lot and still have a riot.

It was just too different from the GSL to compare. We had 'one under the belt' to assist in the planning, we were far more formally organized particularly in the month leading up to the event. Dates were selected ~6 months out, itinerary set ~4 months out and registration open ~3 months out. As the even matures I think we can even beat those.

GSL was a pack up an go each day. That robbed us of a lot of relax time but in its own right made things very fun. Everyone had to make it, no leaving vehicles behind in camp. With the Uintas it was slower paced. I got a ton of R&R in riding shot-gun in Jasons 55 and kicking around camp reading a book and throwing rocks. Next year will likely be a split of the two. Rather than a single base camp we'll probably spend 2 nights each at 2 different sites.
