Renix injector problem

My son's 87 comanche started to have a strong gas smell so I popped the hood and it has major injector leaks. At first I thought that the seals may be bad but the gas is leaking out of the iinjector electrical connector. All but one injector is leaking. I measured the fuel rail pressure and it was low from the leaks. I changed out a plugged fuel filter a few weeks ago and replaced the fuel line that was leaking but I doubt that would do in the injectors. Could the cold weather have done them in ?
Now I wish I hadn't sold that 89 4.0 engine that I had so cheap. I have injectors from a 91 and a 92 4.0 xj does anyone know how different they are from the Renix injectors ?

My 89 Comanche started leaking from the injectors just like yours......your going to find that all the rubber parts and seals will start failing. I had to replace a bunch of vacume line and other bits and pieces on my comanche, but once I fixed the injectors and vacume issues......it ran like a top!!

I replaced my 4.0 MJ's injectors with junk yard Ford 19lb injectors from a 95 Mustang. It ran like a champ after the swap. I picked up new "O" rings from autozone. You can get Ford 19lb injectors from lots of Ford vehicles. Ebay is a good source too if you don't want the risk of buying from a junk yard.

The renix injectors are like 18.6lbs the Ford are 19lbs. They are a direct swap. I paid 15 bux for six injectors from the junkyard and it ran great after!

I want to say that you can use newer MOPAR injectors without a problem, but don't quote me on that. I "think" I did that on my last Cherokee.

As for the cold weather, I doubt it. Mine has had them randomly fail for no reason at all on all of my 4.0L equipped Jeeps. Just the way they are.

I have been looking on ebay and there are lots of the 19# ford injectors to choose from. I'll have to see what I can get. The newer injectors are 21 # but should work if the computer has enough range in the controls to compensate. I also have several sets of these. I may have to use these so the wife can have a rig to run around in.
