Rhino lining?

I bought some off ebay that is a spray on kind. It's called rattleguard. I sprayed the inside of my xj grey and it seems to have held up good so far. It look good too. You'll end up spending $100 for black and $125 for a color. I used duplicolor before that and it peeled right off after completely removing the paint, so it was prepped good.

another thing to remember is to do it when it is warm, same as painting or else it will just peel off like anything else

I've used Herculiner, Duplicolor and Durabak which is available at

Herculiner peels off and fades as mentioned. The kit comes w/ the roller and everything you need. I only used 2 coats and wish I did 3 or 4. Duplicolor is only $40 or so from Wally world or any car parts store. It has held up about the same. Durabak is a two part mix that seems to work really well. Its available in 15 colors starting at about the same price as Herculiner. I would say get the Durabak but do lots of prep work and you should be happy with it.

Thanks Brad sounds like great advice just what i needed to know, but Is online the only place to buy this or is there a local dealer i can pick it up from so i don't have to pay freight? And by "prep" i assume you mean sanding and cleaning?

I just realized that I ended up using Gator Guard and not Durabak so I'm not sure if Durabak is a two part mix. I was planning on using Durabak from what others had said and went w/ the Gator Guard. Sorry about that. The Gator Guard turned out really nice though. I ordered it through the sportsmans magazine along w/ a tent so shipping was not too big of a deal at the time. I have not seen Durabak in any stores but there might be one that carries it somewhere local.

Yep, All of the brands have good instructions on the cans. I think the main thing that I never do good enough is scuffing up the surface well enough. Then using Xylene to clean it up really good.

Duraback is about a 129 a gal for the good stuff UV protected its easy to put in it comes in rough and smooth in about 28 diff colors you can spray in on and it only takes about a day to set up, there is hippo they sell at Jones paint and glass sucks, I have rhino liner in my pick up and I think the duraback is just as good. If you have your own paint gun 300 bucks and you can do your whole 4x4, of course rhino is great stuff too but its a lot more that 300.

Here is Gator Guard on the tool box\fold and tumble seat combo and Herculiner peeling from the tailgate. Herculiner was applied to the whole bed in Oct 99. I tried to post pics before RME went down

From what i read about Durabak, it looks like the stuff i'll use, and for under $150 to do all that i'm going to do it, seems like a good deal. thanks for all the input.
