I don't know how many of you knew him. But Clay Petty from Moab died after being swept away in the Colorado, apparently helping someone cross. Grand County issued an updated press release about an hour ago.
EDIT: KSL says he saved someone from drowning. That seems even more like him. 😪
Clay made my daughter the acting head of his "church" a few years ago, though the absurd and hilarious name.of the denomination escapes me, and he was a bunch of fun. More recently he offered me his old comp Jeep to buy, and we spent a good while hemming and hawing, eventually.agreeing that it was not the right fit.
He has a good sized family who are no doubt having the worst time of their lives, and for them I have nothing but sympathy. That he died helping people will be s.all.consolation, but consolation nonetheless, he was a decent fella.
RIP, Clay. 😪
