I'm super interested in hearing about these roads. My 3 week trip in July and August put me on some roads that are probably similar to these that you've identified. I hope someone posts up a trip report.

Just throwing this out, we might get a room in either Page, AZ or Big Water, UT on the first night. Camp the other 2 nights. The wife is OK with camping, but a shower and nice bed go a long way for her. :)

Also, on day two before we head to Alstrom Point, we should visit the BLM office in Big Water, check out the Dinosaur exhibit and get some current trail intel.

I've got my eye on a couple potentially rad camp spots right outside Big Water.

If you're looking at the Paria Canyon Overlook, south of Big Water, generally where the red dot is in the photo below, note that there really isn't a lot of space on that loop road for more than maybe 3 rigs. The loop road is narrow, sandy and has VERY limited pull-outs. I drove to that loop in late July. I drove in from the west about mid-way down this photo, then drove out to Big Water. The descent to Big Water was very sandy. For some Jeeps it is probably not a big deal. For my 8000# van, the descent was fun, ascending might be a different story. It's not a steep road, but it does have some elevation change. Comes out at the Big Water Visitors center.

Beautiful view into Paria canyon though!

Tell me about the general difficulty of this trip, I'd love to join but don't want to be a burden the group.

Check the link in the 1st post, I was in a JKU Rubicon on 35's and never needed 4 low or lockers. Marty was in a Liberty on smaller tires and did just fine. It's not too difficult, but the area is prone to washouts, being a drainage into Lake Powell.... so road conditions change quickly and get real rough.

At this point, less than a month out, I think the group is pretty much set... and there are 6 guys in line as alternates, so the chances of any more positions opening up are slim, IMO.

Unfortunately my work schedule has me nervous a about the timing of this trip. With my airport project winding down and the Facebook project taking off it may be impossible to take time off. Long story short I’m going to forfeit my position so someone else has the ability to fill the spot. I’m super disappointed ☹️

That sucks, Derek! Would have been fun to hang out with you again. Thanks for the early heads up, that'll help the next in line plan.

@XJEEPER - Jeff, you're up! Still want to go?

@TEAM FRED , are you still going to make this?

Looking for confirmation from everyone on the list of attendees, just to give the alternates a chance if any others bail.

Thanks to everyone else that has shared that they're still in!
