Made a two-day trip down to Robbers Roost east of the San Rafael Swell last week. Above is a shot of the Kokapelli petroglyph at the Moore cutoff to I-70 on the way. Here's what I believe is an offshoot of Roost Canyon:
Got into some rough country. Got lost. Camped out in the cold and built a big fire. It would have been a great trip if I hadn't been thinking about work the whole time. Below is my camping spot, near where one of the roads washed out, and a box canyon at the end of one of the roads.
The Heep performed well the whole trip except for an electrical fire that I believe fried my CB.
If I had been in better shape, I would have hiked down Horseshoe Canyon. But I'm exercising now. Might try the trip again in the spring.
Took the back road along the Green River back to the town of Green River, then W. on I-70, N. to Huntington, across the Mountain and back home to Mt. Pleasant.
