rs9000 shocks discontinued?

I have a set of 4 9012's that I was thinking of having warranteed due to leakage.


Well Im **** outta luck. They discontinued the product line, and warranties are only valid one their current products.


Anyone know of a rancho dealer who has some?

Who told you that about the warranty? I would call Rancho.

Larry @ On & Off Road Haus in SLC stocks alot of the Ranchos, he might have some kicking around? How long ago did they flat-out discontinue them? Seems like the 99000's have been out for 5+ years now.

Tenneco Inc warrants qualifying Rancho products against defects and wear-outs when used on private passenger cars and light trucks under normal operating conditions for as long as such purchaser owns the vehicle on which they were originally installed and Tenneco continues to make the warranted product(s)


I dont know when they were replaced with the current model, I was just looking up warranty details when I found the 9000's are no longer on the website.

The replacements are an upgraded version of the 9000, a little more in price but still run about 350 for a set of 4 when they are on sale.

Thats completely lame. So they knowingly sell a product they won't warranty for the last couple of years they sell them. They know when they are going to discontinue them, and they know when they are most likely to fail. They should at a minimum offer a credit towards the new shocks.

This would be like Crafsman refusing their warranty's everytime the redesign their tools. So you couldn't replace your old style sockets because they have their new "ez read" laser etched sockets out. Or Warn refusing to fix a winch because they discontinued it... won't happen from a reputable company.

I agree, I will be calling them tomorrow. I actually have the receipt from when I bought them!

Purchase date of 9/12/05 and the truck has sat for over a year of that time.

guess I will not be buying rancho shocks.... and now I like my procrap mx6 shocks even better...

rancho has them
they show 46 in the warhouse in mis.
check with your local NAPA store they can get them
