RTI scores?

I've never had mine scored can someone tell me how it works?

distance traveled up the ramp / wheelbase * 1000

As far as RTI as a predictor of vehicle performance... The distance you travel up an inclined ramp does not correlate directly to the performance of a vehicle on a trail. As was mentioned earlier, revolver shackles can make you go up a ramp a bunch more, but have proven to be more of a hindrance on the trail in most cases. We've learned a lot since the RTI fad of the 90s. Suspension travel isn't everything, but a well designed suspension system can have a lot of travel (and a very high RTI score) and also work very well on the trail. There's more to it than just a lot of travel, but that is one component of the equation, in my opinion.

Sorry I've never taken scores... but I noticed that you (mixedupjeeper) have an XJ and I have some XJ flex pics on my comp you'd probably like....

The one on the RTI ramp is just an XJ that I've found online, and the pics of the one on the rock was my XJ

I thought that Heep looked familier. My cruiser is in the background on the Rattlesnake pic.

hehe yeah that was the day my trac-bar broke :ugh:.... and then I decided I wanted to build a wrangler... so the XJ was retired.... (don't tell anyone about the poopy fab work I did on that XJ )

.... and as far as the whole "too much flex is worthless comments..." ... I have some super-flex pics saved to my computer that I'd like to share but I don't really want to hi-jack this thread... but I also don't really want to just start a new thread just to post 7 or so pics.... what should I do?....

Post them in this thread. It's relevant to the discussion.

This thread cracks me up. I've seen some high scoring RTI rigs that wouldn't drive on a trail, let alone on the road. For the decently built rigs that score high, there should be points deducted for the rear steer (if any) that it causes, and I'm not talking about mechanical rear steering.

I should still have a trophy packed away somewhere, that I won at a Mepco All-Jeep Show back in the day....for "Best Ramp Performance". I'm so proud. :ugh:
